Weather deteriorated further through the night. It drizzled a hard rain all night here in G’wald but 500′ or so above us, it was snow.
This is the picture from my balcony this morning. I estimate that the snow line is about 400′ above the valley floor with the bottom of the cloud layer a couple of hundred feet higher.
The pass I have to go through is more than 3000′ above the bottom of the clouds. I don’t think it is safe to attempt to hike on these conditions so I think I have no good option but to wait it out and hope conditions improve.
This is really throwing my schedule out of whack, but there is no other safe option.
